QI Cabernet Sauvignon ︱The best quality from Qingdao terroir
When Dr. Karl Hauptmann arrived to China, 10 years ago, and started to build his beautiful winery he had one clear aim in his mind: to produce a world class wine.
 

 
Our newly released wine, Qi Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, has undoubtedly made his dream getting closer and closer.


 
As its name suggest, this wine reflects the ‘energy’ of our terroir and its expression only in the best vintage. Two vintage, 2013 and 2106, so far have showed this amazing energy and so the ability to make such a prestigious wine.
 

 
‘Qi’ is a powerful still elegant red made by100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes we selected and harvested from our best plots’ vineyards, which makes the production limited to only 5158 bottles carefully handmade from grapes to final packaging.
 

QI aged in oak barrels for 14 months, and for one year in the bottle. This time enriched the wine with an effusive aroma of dark fruits layered with hints of spicy and earthy notes. Its structured palate doles out layers of flavours, from fresh red fruit to a soft touch of toasting. Tannins are silky, making the wine approachable now, but likely capable of a long aging.
